A US dad has pleaded guilty to killing his daughter after he hit her with a baseball bat before setting her on fire and dumping her remains in a creek.
The Sun reports, Ryan Lawrence, 25, was jealous of the attention his one-year-old daughter received after her battle with cancer.
‘Without going into too much detail, [Ryan Lawrence’s] statements allude to almost a sense of jealousy about the attention that this child was getting, as opposed to the attention that he was getting,’ Onondaga Country District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick said according to the media outlet.
The baby’s mother reportedly called the police after she found a note from Lawrence, indicating his plans to harm their daughter.
He will be sentenced next month and faces between 25 years to life behind bars.
