The ten-year-old boy who died by a suspected family suicide has been described as a ‘prolific painter’.
The bodies of Martin Manrique, 10, Elisa, 11, their mother Maria Lutz, father Fernando, 44, and pet dog were found dead in their home on Monday.
‘[Martin] was a prolific painter and a very gifted artist; that was how he communicated, through his art,’ deputy principal Susan Jones told the Daily Telegraph on Wednesday.
New reports say Manrique contacted euthanasia group Exit International for a copy of their handbook ‘The Peaceful Pill prior to installing ‘extensive, elaborate and well planned’ gas system in their home, The Australian reports.
As a memorial to the two children, their artworks will be displayed at St Lucy’s.
