Days after winning the Bachelor final Alex Nation was seen going on a romantic getaway with Richie Strahan, and while she’s away her ex is looking after their son, Elijah.
Joel Porter shared an adorable photo with Elijah, 5, on Instagram ahead of the school holidays – seemingly confirming he’s taking the boy for the time being as his ex enjoys herself elsewhere, and saying he loves being ‘fully involved’ as a parent.
‘My little man and I at work,’ he wrote in the caption. ‘Not a soul here who doesn’t love a visit from Elijah!
‘Taking time off so we can spend the school holidays together! Lots of fun planned!’
Joel added in the comments: ‘I love being a dad, and he comes number 1 in all, no matter what.’
Responding to a fan who says they can see the love between Joel and his son, the father said he’s ‘trying to prove some dad’s do sacrifice and change their lives for the sake of their little ones.’
He added: ‘As a dad you can still be fully involved, you can still work, you can still have fun and you can still stay healthy… Otherwise known as legend dad bahahahah @littlemalteeser.’
Despite the show finishing filming months ago, Richie told The Daily Telegraph he hasn’t met Elijah yet. Loving and caring mum Alex has recently defended her parenting.
