A 16-year-old girl who allegedly threw her newborn baby out of her window will reportedly be charged as an adult.
Antonia Lopez gave birth to a baby on Friday morning before discarding it out of her second story apartment window, the Omaha World Herald reports.
A Police statement says the teen’s mother called emergency services around 4 a.m after her daughter told her what happened, PEOPLE reports
Omaha Fire paramedics allegedly found the teen’s mother administering CPR to the baby.
Lopez and the baby were taken to Creighton University Medical Center, where the newborn was pronounced dead.
Lopez is being held in a juvenile detention facility.
