If you’re looking for something nice to make for yourself on the weekend, or to bring along to a birthday, or pack in the kids’ lunchboxes as an extra special treat, this super-easy dessert might be the one for you.
We first saw it on the Instagram account @the_great_usa_food, but it’s so simple, we’re wondering why we didn’t cotton on to this recipe sooner
You can check out the video above for the easy directions, or follow along below as we tell you how to make this delicious, biscuit-cake hybrid.
28 Oreos, biscuit and filling separated
1 tsp baking powder
Icing (optional, but desirable)
150ml double cream, piping hot
150g dark chocolate
Oreo crumbs, to decorate
Separate the icing and biscuit parts of the 28 Oreos, putting the icing aside in another bowl.
Finely crush the biscuit portion and then pour into a large mixing bowl. Add baking powder and stir.
Add milk and Oreo filling to the bowl, continuing to stir until mixture is smooth.
Grease and line a microwave-safe tray or bowl, and pour in mixture in. Microwave on high (750W) for six minutes. Remove from microwave and place on a cooling rack.
If making icing, pour the piping hot double cream over the dark chocolate in a large mixing bowl.
Stir slowly and gently until combined, resembling melted chocolate.
Pour over cake as icing. Decorate the edges of the cake with Oreo crumbs for something a little extra.
