Oprah Winfrey has gained 14 kilos over the past nine months and now weighs a heavy 124 kilos, Globe reports.
The TV mogul, 63, is currently about 59 kilos overweight, according to the publication.
Oprah, who begins her new gig as a special correspondent for CBS’ 60 Minutes in the fall, is “playing Russian roulette” with her weight, says New York-based Dr. Stuart Fischer.
By being obese and yo-yo dieting she has exposed herself to “65 different illnesses, including cancer, heart disease and high blood pressure,” Dr. Fischer tells Globe.
Oprah claimed she lost 40 pounds after buying a 10 percent portion of Weight Watchers – worth $77 million - in 2015, but she’s gained it back, and more, Globe’s experts say.
“Her life probably changed a bit after she bought a part of Weight Watchers,” L.A.-based dietician Lisa DeFazio tells Globe. “Initially, it was a great motivator, but the trick is keeping it off.”
“Oprah hasn’t been working out and is eating all her favorite meals again like chicken pot pie, meatloaf and buttery mashed potatoes, and ice cream sundaes for dessert,” a source says, adding: “She has to be shaming herself now especially after the way she promoted Weight Watchers and her diet. What does it say about her own commitment?”
