Now in its second season, the cast of Big Little Lies has a new member in the form of legendary Hollywood actress Meryl Streep.
Meryl plays Mary Louise, the mother of Celeste's late abusive husband Perry played by Alexander Skarsgard.
Thanks to the incredible popularity of Emmy award winning Big Little Lies season one, Nicole Kidman and co-star Reese Witherspoon - who plays Madeline - are now among the highest paid TV stars in Hollywood.
The two reportedly negotiated pay cheques of $1.4 million AUD per episode for BLL season two, three times more than the first season, News.com.au reports.
While the rest of the "Monterey five" don't earn quite as much - with Shailene Woodley and Laura Dern both on $719,000 AUD and Zoe Kravitz taking $615,000 AUD per episode - the total take home pay of Big Little Lies stars vastly exceeds that of the five lead cast members from HBO's Game of Thrones - Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau - who all earned $719,000 for each installment of the final season.
New episodes of Big Little Lies season 2 air on Mondays at 11am and 8.30pm.
