She is more “determined than ever” to make her baby dream come true, the source added.
So much so that Nicole and husband Keith Urban are willing to do “whatever it takes”.
“Nicole and Keith have been looking into options to help have a baby. While Nic’s grandmother had a baby late in life, Nicole knows it will be a struggle for her, so the couple are talking about surrogacy and adoption as well.”
The couple are already parents to daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, but Nicole would love to give Keith the son he has always wanted.
“Now that her girls are getting older, Nic would love a new baby in the home and she knows Keith would love a little boy.”
Nicole has even admitted herself that she is keen to get pregnant this year. “I still have the faintest hope that something may happen to me this year,” she revealed to the Mail On Sunday.
“Keith and I would love to have more babies.
“My grandmother gave birth to my mother at 49. I would be beyond happy and just welcome it with open arms.”
Indeed in the past, Nicole has openly admitted how much she loves being a mother.
“I think because I’ve experienced motherhood in so many different ways,” she admitted previously.
“I’ve experienced adoption, birthing a child and I’ve experienced surrogacy. I’m like, when it comes to it, I just wanna be a mama.”
Nicole, who has struggled with fertility in the past, had two miscarriages when she was married to Tom Cruise, so went on to adopt Isabella, 25, and Connor, 23.
She had her first biological child Sunday Rose with Keith in 2008 and two years later had her second child Faith Margaret through a surrogate. But her love of her children can make her overprotective at times.
The actress describes her parenting style as “helicopter” and has elements that she “grapples with”.
“When my daughters are playing on the monkey bars I try not to hover and say ‘be careful’,” she has said previously.
“I want them to find their own way, but I still have that balance of knowing I am there when they need me.”
