MUST SEE: Nicole Kidman's hilarious 1984 Target catalogue resurfaces
It's the fun curio from another time that we're very glad survived
She may be an international movie icon, but back in 1984 Nicole Kidman was a young actress and model who wasn’t above flogging ‘$22 Easy-Fit Denims’ in Target catalogues.

The familiar smile and cork-screw ginger hair that shot her to fame in BMX Bandits the prior year were on full display in the 32-page October release, which was popped into mailboxes around the country. While most copies went straight into the bin and were forgotten forever, one yellowing example miraculously survived, and was scanned and posted on the Old Shops AustraliaFacebook page.
As well as numerous shots of Nicole modelling retro bargains, there are also technological marvels of the day, including ghetto blasters, clock radios and digital watches.
Nicole’s catalogue work was soon behind her, with a string of acting roles escalating to major stardom by the turn of the decade. We bet she never expected to see these pictures again – but we’re sure she’s thrilled they’re back...
