What should’ve been a tranquil moment of meditation quickly turned into a nightmare, after a 23-year-old student fell from her sixth-floor apartment balcony while attempting an extreme yoga pose on Saturday.
A circulating photo showed the woman – believed to be a Mexican college student named Alexa Terrazas – hanging upside down from her balcony moments before she fell to the driveway of her building in the northeastern Mexican state of Nuevo Leon.

Alexa supported the entire weight of her body on the rail of her balcony before she tragically fell.
According to the Daily Mail, the student fell at 1:10pm local time and was tended to by paramedics from the Red Cross and the Nuevo Leon Civil Protection.
After being transported to a local hospital, she underwent 11 hours of surgery and is listed in critical condition – suffering fractures to both of her legs and arms, hips and skull.
Mexican news outlet El Imparcial reported that Alexa might not walk for three years after doctors reconstructed her legs.
An investigation by the Nuevo Leon Attorney General’s office found that the balcony did not have any structural damages.
The publication also reported that her neighbours claimed they frequently saw the 23-year-old performing dangerous stunts on the balcony.
According to the Daily Mail, Alexa’s family members have taken to social media to seek blood donations and prayers.
