A Florida woman has been caught on camera sensationally faking an injury in an effort to secure worker’s compensation.
Sheyla Veronica White was convicted of fraud after surveillance footage busted her picking up a sprinkler head that had just fallen from the ceiling and slamming it into her face.
White had previously submitted a claim for the incident, explaining that the metal hardware had bounced off her desk and struck her while she worked at Cinque Terre Energy Partner’s in Fort Lauderdale.
But her plan quickly went awry when her insurance company became suspicious and launched an investigation.
White was arrested in August 2016 and was sentenced to 18 months of probation.
But this wasn’t her first brush with the law.
In 2010 she was placed on house arrest for six months after she stole personal identification from one of her students.
