A North Queensland couple has been left horrified after a snake found its way into their bed.
Adele Mallard, from Rangewood west of Townsville, was asleep on Tuesday morning when she rolled over onto the slithery intruder. Mallard says that when she bumped into the snake it attempted to bite her in the hamstring.
Speaking to the Townsville Bulletin, she said: ‘I was like ‘hon, there’s something in the bed, it just bit me’ as I slid across to the other side.
‘My hubby caught him with a pillowcase.’
A local snake catcher identified the reptile as a ‘harmless spotted python’.
Adele believes the snake crawled into bed for the warmth, and had possibly found its way in through the air conditioning.
The snake has since been rehomed
Ms Mallard does say there is one upside of the scary situation, claiming: ‘It could be worse, it could have been a spider.’
