This Sunday, Uber and Australian Red Cross are running their yearly clothing drive for the third time, and it’s the perfect opportunity to clean out your wardrobe!
Last year, the partnership saw $800,000 worth of donations, with a similar haul expected this year.
If your looking to declutter your wardrobe, all you need to do is gather the items you’d like to donate, open up the Uber app between 12pm and 4pm on Sunday, the 3rd of June, select the the Red Cross Clothing Drive card, tap ‘Request’, and they’ll come to your location and pick up your donation.
Simple.

Susan Anderson, Uber Australia and New Zealand’s general manger, said in a press release, ‘Uber is proud to be partnering again with Australian Red Cross in support of this fantastic initiative.
‘We are hoping that this year’s Clothing Drive will be bigger and better, helping raise funds to support the invaluable work Red Cross does for communities in need.’
If you’re keen to get involved, you’ll be able to request pickups in the following areas:
- Sydney – CBD and Eastern Suburbs, North Shore, and Inner West
- Melbourne – CBD and surrounding suburbs
- Adelaide – CBD and surrounding suburbs
- Brisbane – Fortitude Valley, CBD, and surrounding suburbs
- Gold Coast – Southport and surrounding suburbs
- Perth – CBD and surrounding suburbs
There’s a few rules, though. Firstly, the pickups can be clothing, shoes, and accessories only. Unfortunately, Uber can’t accept toys or electronics.
Make sure everything is properly bagged for the driver and wait with your donation. Uber also asks that no one donate broken or unusable items.
