34-year-old Trystan Reese was assigned female at birth, came out as transgender and now lives in a gay relationship with his partner of seven years, Biff Chaplow. The pair have also adopted Biff’s niece and nephew, Hailey and Riley, into their family.

When the couple decided to have a baby, Trystan explains in an interview with CNN, he stopped taking testosterone, and consulted doctors to make sure he’d be able to carry the baby safely.

‘We’ve been under medical supervision the entire time,’ he said, ‘to make it as healthy and safe as possible.’

Leo Murray Chaplow was born on July 14, 2017 and apparently ‘eats like a champ, sleeps well, and gives us lots of cuddles.’

After being left heartbroken when their first pregnancy was a miscarriage, the couple say they could not be happier to welcome little Leo.

‘We are so lucky to have been able to welcome him into our lives and cannot wait to see who he grows up to be.’

Trystan and Biff have a Facebook page called Biff and I which documents their life as a rainbow family living in Portland, Oregon.
