While most teenagers pose in the very same way for their high school graduation photo, cap on head and certificate in hand, one American graduate did things a little differently for her special day.

Tori Roach, 19, graduated from Huntsville High School in Texas back in May 2018, and organised a touching tribute to her father by recreating his own high school graduation picture which shows him holding her as an infant 18 years earlier.

The heartwarming post was a hit on social media, swiftly racking up over 175,000 likes and more than 67,000 retweets on Twitter.

Many users were gobsmacked at Tori’s Dad’s good looks, leading her to clarify: “For those asking, yes this is my dad, he’s 37, and no he isn’t single…

Speaking about the post, which went viral last year, Tori told People Magazine: “I’m from a small town and nothing like that ever happens over here.

“I didn’t expect it to blow up like that! Once it started happening, I was like ‘Oh my gosh!’ I called my family and I was like, ‘Everyone’s sharing the pictures!'”

“My dad was really proud. It brought me and my dad closer in a way because we could share that moment, and I feel that not many other people get to experience that.”

She also told People she plans to recreate the photo again when she graduates from Sam Houston State University in 2022.
