A man has been killed after he allegedly stabbed and doused a woman in petrol a woman that he met on Tinder in Port Macquarie.
The 28-year-old woman managed to make her way to a neighbour’s house, where they called police.
The woman was taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital with serious injuries and a manhunt began for the 36-year-old male.
NSW Police said a shooting occurred between police and the man in Coffs Harbour at around 9:45 p.m Thursday night.
The spokesperson added: ‘A critical incident team from State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad will now investigate all circumstances surrounding the incident including the discharge of a police firearm.’
A witness told the Daily Telegraph: ‘It’s not a grubby neighbourhood at all, it’s calm, really well kept and very nice.’
The woman is still in hospital and her condition has been downgraded from critical to stable.
