A former The Voice Australia contestant was allegedly attacked, bound, and raped by her ex-boyfriend, according to claims published nationally today by news.com.au.
According to the site, police reportedly claim in documents that the woman, who has not been identified for legal reasons, had suffered repeated instances of abuse at the hands of her violent ex while they were together and for some time afterward.
In one of the first events in what news.com.au describe as a ‘reign of terror’, the ex allegedly dragged the woman by the hair, before two witnesses let her hide in their room as he stood outside, threatening to burn down her house.
Another incident involved the woman visiting a public place, where the man turned up and allegedly threatened her with a scalpel before chasing her to a disabled toilet and raping her.
News.com.au also report that he tied the woman by her wrists at a public oval, and attempted to assault her against the fence.
The accused ex has been charged with three counts of assault and contravening an Apprehended Violence Order, two counts of choking with recklessness, deprivation of liberty, and four separate charges of aggravated sexual assault (including use of a weapon with threat to inflict actual body harm).
