According to a new survey conducted by Credit Simple, 85 per cent of Aussies are missing out on negotiating cheaper deals on things like electricity and phone use because they don’t know what their credit score is.

Credit scores offer a rating that reflect your financial history and eligibility for loans, credit cards, phone plans and more.
A high score means you’re going to be in line for increased lending, while a low score does the opposite.
Credit Simple chief executive David Scognamiglio said, ‘If you’ve got a credit default on your file and it was from a late phone bill four years ago but you’ve been paying your bills wonderfully well since, why shouldn’t you be able to fix that and tell the financial community you’re a good payer?’
