If this is you – then you don’t want to keep reading. A man who says that he is an employee of the chain at a US store has shared what he claims is the gruesome truth about the machine that makes your favourite treat.

‘This came out of McDonald’s ice cream machine in case y’all were wondering…’ he wrote underneath a photo which shows a gruesome trough filled with what looks like mould.
Some people said that he must be making it up – arguing it’s not mould but grease from a grease trap.
Rebutting this, he shared another photo:
Other people have pointed out that this machine is a one-off. Adding that if the machines were cleaned regularly as the managers are told to do it wouldn’t get that bad.
