Numerous law enforcement officials have been called to a University campus in Texas as an active shooter is reported to be ‘at large.’
Texas Tech issued an emergency notification reporting the campus is on lockdown following a reported shooting on Monday night as the shooter’s whereabouts remain unknown.
According to RT, a Texas Tech University officer was allegedly shot and killed at Texas Tech Police Headquarters in Lubbock, Texas.
“A shooting has been reported at the Texas Tech Police Department. At this time, the shooter is still at large. The campus is on lockdown. Take shelter in a safe location,” Texas Tech University said in an emergency notice.
The shooting happened at around 8 pm on Monday night. The shooter is still on the loose, and the Texas Tech campus as well as its neighboring University Medical Center are on lockdown.
A SWAT team has responded to support clearing buildings.

Police have issued several warnings for residents in the Texas area to remain indoors.
