Bachelorette star Stu Laundy has spoken candidly on his failed relationship with Sophie Monk, as he prepares to fight Sonny Bill Williams in a charity boxing match.
The millionaire pub owner also revealed his relationship with estranged wife Carys Courtney is over, and that he maintains regular contact with Sophie Monk despite the couple splitting soon after the show ended.
‘Sophie Monk is a legend. I was looking for a partner but instead I found a close friend,’ he told Daily Mail.
The former reality star is set to appear in the boxing ring for an encounter with footy star Sonny Bill Williams.
The pair will headline the ‘Banger Under the Hanger’ charity fight night in aid of the Reverend Bill Crews Exodus Foundation and the Auckland City Mission.
Williams is undefeated in seven fights, and is a former New Zealand Heavyweight Champion.
‘Some call it brave, I might call it stupid, but I’ve been throwing drunks out of pubs for 30 years,’ Stu said.
‘Sonny’s got me in bulk and muscle…and probably athleticism as well.
‘But I’ve done quite a lot of sparring throughout my life. I’ve had experience throwing punches.’
The charity fight will occur December 1 in Sydney.
