For one Japanese pole vaulter the difference between winning and losing came down to the size of his penis.
Athlete Hiroki Ogita attempted to clear a height of 5.3m in the first round of the men’s pole vault when it all came crashing down.
The 28-year-old’s shin was the first part of his body to touch the pole and cause it wobble, however, on the way down it was his penis which caused the upsetting blow.
Ogita did manage to clear the bar in his next jump, but it wasn’t enough to qualify, finishing 21st place.
