Steve Ditko, the co-creator of Spider Man, has sadly passed away at the age of 90.
The legendary comic book artist, who worked with Stan Lee, died in his New York City apartment.
TMZ report Ditko’s death was the result of a heart attack.
While Lee went on to become the face of Marvel comics, Steve chose to remain private and refused to do public appearances.
Many have claimed Ditko was the ‘unsung hero’ of the Comic Book world, with the notoriously private artist and writer continuing to work at Marvel’s Manhattan studio.

Our thoughts are with Steve‘s family and friends during this difficult time.
Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko were practically the architects of what superhero comics would evolve into. Neither got their proper due.

Steve Ditko was true to his own ideals. He saw things his own way, and he gave us ways of seeing that were unique. Often copied. Never equalled. I know I'm a different person because he was in the world. pic.twitter.com/2GFSA86Btj

Sad to hear of the passing of the legendary artist and creator Steve Ditko. Beloved for generations– his work was the Quirky to Kirby's Majesty and helped provide the early visual vocabulary in counterpoint to Kirby's power and influence. 1/3 pic.twitter.com/GvH8Mcrxg6
