Convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby has reportedly applied for the dole, according to reports in the Courier Mail today.
Sources state that the 40-year-old – who has settled back into life on the Gold Coast after spending more than a decade behind bars in Bali – applied for Newstart payments about a month ago. Once approved, she will receive fortnightly payments of about $530 a fortnight but will have to look for work.
Since Corby’s return to Australia in May, she’s spent her time posting pictures of her new, lavish lifestyle in Queensland.
Recently, she shared images of her 40th birthday celebration with her more than 200,000 followers.
She was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2005 after she was arrested in Bali with 4.1kg of cannabis inside a bodyboard bag.
