A Royal super-fan, who has become known as ‘Replikate’, has revealed how she replicates the duchesses outfits perfectly! Without breaking the bank, we might add.
Mallory Bowling, 29, has been copying Kate Middleton’s coveted style for years, and regularly uploads pictures of her copycat looks to Instagram, where she is part of a community called ‘Replikates.’
Bowling says her admiration of the duchess started back in 2007, ‘I was at university when the Queen visited. I got to see her in the flesh and it was an absolutely phenomenal experience.’
‘It was the opportunity of a lifetime,’ she continues.
As Kate become more popular and more prominent in the media, Mallory became increasingly fascinated by her style.
At first she began replicating the duchess casually, using photos of her outfits for inspiration, rather than copying them exactly.
But over time Bowling got more and more into tracking down where Kate’s clothes were from, finding discounted versions so she could dress the same.
‘Her style is so classic. It’s not just a trend. The so-called Kate effect means that clothes like that are far easier to come by,’ Mallory says.
‘Her style is very similar to mine, as well,’ she adds.
Remarkably, despite Kate’s wardrobe being packed with designer labels, Mallory has only spent ‘a few hundred pounds over five years’ on copying it.
Once she knows where the original item was from, she will scour eBay, Amazon and secondhand shops for either pre-owned or very close copycat versions.
Now, Mallory has also turned her attention to Pippa Middleton and Meghan Markle.
She says, ‘I’ve loved Meghan ever since she was in Suits, which I used to watch at law school. I love the more casual style she has, and how much she does for the UN, so I was very excited when she and Harry got together.’
Amazing!
