Police in Melbourne were on high alert as crowds eagerly awaited the arrival of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – now the Duchess of Sussex – to arrive on the next leg of their Australian tour.
As the royal couple were on route to Melbourne aboard a RAAF flight that departed from Sydney airport jet base on Thursday morning, one man was taken away by police.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are on their official 16-day Autumn tour visiting cities in Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand.
Meghan boarded the flight wearing a blue shift dress and clutching the beige coat she has worn before on tour.
Crowds awaiting the royal couple’s arrival appeared in good spirits – with fans clutching banners and wearing hats adorned with the happy couple
Prince Harry and Meghan’s first appearance in Melbourne is due to be a walkabout to meet members of the public at Government House Drive.
They are then due to attend a reception at Government House housed by Governor Linda Dessau.
