The Duchess of Sussex wowed fans as she made a surprise appearance at the British Fashion Awards on Dec. 10.
Looking chic in a black one-shouldered gown, the pregnant royal attended the ceremony to present Claire Waight Keller, the designer of her wedding gown, with the prestigious British Womenswear Designer of the Year award.
Meghan opted for a dress by Waight Keller’s fashion house Givenchy. She completed the look with gold “Karat” heel by Tamara Mellon and a gold cuff bracelet by Pippa Small.
Meghan also swept her hair back into a low bun – without her signature pieces of loose hair in the front.

As Meghan was called from backstage, a video captured by a fan and since shared to Instagram, shows the 37-year-old former actress take a tiny stumble as she climbed a step.
Being a pro when it comes to live appearances, Meghan regained her composure quickly and with ease.
“It is such an honour to be here celebrating British fashion and British fashion designers in my new home of the UK,” Meghan said as the audience erupted in cheers.
When accepting her award, Waight Keller said, “This woman is so amazing. I got to know Meghan on such a personal level. To have someone like that trust you on such a personal moment in their life…I can’t thank you enough because it was the most beautiful moment.”

The wedding gown Waight Keller designed for Meghan featured a an open bateau neckline and sculpted waist.
The process was “very collaborative,” Waight Keller previously said in the days following the wedding.
