In an alleged "assassin" attack.

Notorious Sydney gangster, and the ex-boyfriend of PR guru Roxy Jacenko, John Macris has been shot dead in Greece.

The millionaire nightclub owner was reportedly shot four times in the chest outside his home in Voula, a seaside suburb in Athens.

The 46-year-old Greek Australian was in his car, outside his house, when the attack took place.

According to The Greek City Times, the killer had been waiting for Macris and shot him from the passenger side seat of his car.

The publication states Macris was known to both Australian and Greek authorities.

Witnesses to the brutal murder say they heard the gunman shout out: “I’m going to finish him off”, the Daily Telegraph reported, and a final, fatal shot was fired as Macris tried to exit the car.

Macris shares a daughter, Alexandra, with partner Viktoria Karida.
