Nine News presenter Amber Sherlock has spoken out about the humiliating leaked video which saw her blast a fellow journalist over her outfit choice, confessing she “probably overreacted.”
“Live TV can be a pretty stressful beast, at times,” the veteran newsreader explained to Nine Honey.
“It’s never much fun rocking up to work or to a party in the same outfit as one of your colleagues or friends. I probably overreacted with the pressure of reading a live news bulletin.”
In off-air footage that was leaked to Mumbrella, host Amber Sherlock can be seen waiting with her guests, sports reporter Julie Snook and psychologist Sandy Rea, during an ad break of Nine’s afternoon bulletin.
Snook studies her notes as Sherlock looks at the video feed in the studio monitor and notices they are all wearing the colour white.
“I need Julie to put a jacket on because we’re all in white,” Sherlock began.
“I asked her before we came on – Julie, you need to put a jacket on.”
Snook began to explain that she hadn’t had time to source a jacket before going into the studio, as Sherlock cuts her off saying, “Come on, I told you two hours ago.”
Sherlock then proceeded to pull out her iPhone, revealing it was “an issue” and told Snook she’d call the wardrobe department to “get something.”
The passive aggressive back-and-forth continued as Rea looked on uncomfortably.
Snook has since made light of the awkward exchange revealing, “Amber and I just really love white!”
“Amber and I are good friends and I really enjoy working with her, News is a fast moving environment and sometimes these things happen.”
