A mother has been charged with allegedly stabbing her young daughter during a bloody rampage in Port Stephens on Tuesday night.
The 26-year-old was seen walking along Soldiers Point Rd in the Port Stephens suburb of Salamander Bay about 5.40pm with her five-year-old daughter.

7News.com.au reports she was seen holding a knife with a protective sheath.
It is alleged she stabbed a man in a car that was stopped at an intersection before heading to a local shopping centre.
Police later arrested the woman and she was taken to Mater Hospital where she was treated for lacerations and will undergo a mental health assessment.
Three men were treated at a local clinic for superficial injuries, while the little girl was taken to John Hunter Hospital for lacerations to her scalp that are non-life-threatening.
