A grief-stricken mum-of-three has shown off her incredible body after losing half her weight, saying becoming a gym junkie helped her cope with the tragic loss of her partner.
Emma Halford, 31, was devastated when her partner, Craig Golder, 32, took his own life after 10 years together and having three children.
She says her weight had peaked at 98 kilos, and her body made her so self-conscious that she would get her mum to buy her new clothes rather than brave the fitting room.
He depression and bad habits were ruining her experience of parenting, as she says she didn’t even like to go outside with them, and because she was always tired, she couldn’t play with her kids.
Deciding it had to stop, Emma made a New Year’s resolution and discovered something else along the way.
‘My training was a way to release the grief. I was working hard anyway but it was a way I could release the pain I was feeling,’ she told the BBC in an interview.
She is now her own success story, switching careers to become a trainer and inspire other people to take control of their lives. She has also shed 45 kilos, roughly half her weight.
‘I just made little adjustments so that it wasn’t too much for me to take on in one go – if you fall off the wagon get back on.’
Emma has documented her incredible progress on her Instagram page says that while it can be daunting, making the change is possible and completely worth it:
