Police suspect a distraught mother hanged herself after her two children died from mushrooms she had picked in local woods.
According to local media, mother Ludmyla Sinyebok, 37, and her children were last seen by neighbours with a basket of mushrooms that they had picked nearby.

Three days later and Sinyebok, her six-year-old daughter Sofia, and her two-year-old son Maksim were all found dead in their house in northern Ukraine.
The bodies were found by 18-year-old Leonid Sinyebok, Ludmyla’s son.
He had been trying to reach his mother by phone but received no reply so he came to visit the house.
Reports said that Leonid found his mother hanged from the edge of the bed. Under the covers were his deceased younger brother and sister.

The shocked teenager called the police.
Neighbour Serhii Obuh told local media: “The children were in the bed as if they were sleeping. Their mother was in a noose, hanged from the edge of their bed.”
Police spokesman Serhii Bryl said: “According to a preliminary investigation, the mother committed suicide.

“There were no signs of violence found on the bodies. Further examination is needed to find out the exact cause of the children’s death.”
Police believe the children died from eating poisonous mushrooms, prompting their distraught mum to take her own life.
