Many Australians could be waking up $1080 richer today.

From today, eligible Australians will receive their government tax bonus into their bank accounts.
For those who are one of the million-plus people who have already submitted their 2018/2019 tax return, the Australian Tax Office has said Aussies can expect to receive as much as $1080 back.
Those workers earning between $48,000 and $90,000 a year will receive the full benefit, which gradually reduces to zero for those earning up to $126,000 – after the coalition’s tax cuts passed parliament.
The government is hoping this tax relief will help reinvigorate the economy and encourage spending.
The Australian Tax Office says it will automatically apply the tax cut to those who have already lodged their tax return.
