Bring Me Some Water rocker Melissa Etheridge has been busted for drug possession while passing through the US-Canadian border.
The star, 56, was caught out when her tour bus was stopped returning to the United States, when drug dogs zeroed in on a marijuana stash.
The star – who has long been vocal in her endorsement of medical marijuana usage – reportedly stated that she used the substance to manage pain from her bout with breast cancer.
However, that didn’t cut it with authorities who booked her for possession.
Melissa has spoken in the past about the pleasures of dope smoking, even with family members – confessing she does it with her wife Linda and their two children, who are aged 18 and 20.
“It’s a very natural, end-of-the-day [thing],” she claimed. “And it brings you much closer. I’d much rather have a smoke with my grown kids than a drink — oh, God, no.”
