Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have welcomed their first child, a baby boy.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their first born on May 6.
The palace confirmed in a tweet that the baby was born weighing 7 pounds, 3 ounces.
“We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz.,” a statement read.
“The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives.”
“More details will be shared in the forthcoming days.”
The new baby boy is now seventh in line to the throne, bumping Prince Andrew, the second son of the Queen, into eighth place.
The baby’s father, Prince Harry, is sixth in the line of succession.
The new royal baby is also Queen Elizabeth II’s seventh great-grandchild.
