A man who purchased an iced tea at a McDonald’s restaurant claims he was sold a beverage that contained marijuana, which made him “high”.

Parrish Brown, 24, claims he was sold the said beverage at McDonald’s Hilton Head drive-thru in South Carolina, after he asked for an iced tea with “extra lemon”.
According to US newspaper, The Island Packet, the man allegedly found three bags of cannabis inside the drink container, after he inspected its contents.
The man claims he examined the drink after noticing it had a very unusual flavour, and he alleges that after drinking the iced tea, it made him “high as a kite”.
“I have never had weed a day in my life, so immediately after I started drinking it, I started to feel weird and it didn’t taste like something I recognised,” Parish Brown said.
The unsuspecting man went on to say that he panicked after drinking the allegedly tainted drink, so she contacted his dad because he “didn’t want to get in trouble”.
He added that the rest of his meal – which comprised of 10 chicken nuggets and a double cheeseburger – were completely “normal”.
After making his alleged discovery, Parish Brown contacted the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office to report the incident.
When police asked the man why he chose to drink the beverage, despite its irregular taste, he told them he did so because he was thirsty.
Parish Brown also alleges that police immediately recognised the contents of the drink container, after they took a sniff of the container.
The 24-year-old also claims the McDonald’s employee who allegedly served him the drink repeated back his special order of “extra lemon” in an odd voice.
Police are currently investigating the incident.
In a statement provided to New Idea, a McDonald’s spokesperson said: “Our biggest priority is always the safety and well-being of our customers. We are fully cooperating with law enforcement on the validity of this claim.”
