Glee star Mark Salling died from asphyxia by hanging, his death certificate confirms.
The certificate, filed by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office and obtained by Us Weekly, reveals that the disgraced actor hanged himself with a ligature near a riverbed in the Sunland-Tujunga neighborhood of Los Angeles on January 30.
Salling was 35.
Prior to his death, Salling had been awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty in December to possession of child pornography, including a prepubescent minor. The actor had previously agreed to serve four to seven years in jail, in addition to registering as a sex offender. His case has since been dismissed in the wake of his death.
