Trains have been suspended between the western Sydney suburbs of Bankstown and Campsie after a person was injured by a train at Punchbowl station.

Taking to Twitter, Sydney Train’s official account informed Sydney siders planning to take public transport in the affected areas this morning that they were organising replacement buses.
“Trains have been suspended between Bankstown & Campsie in both directions due to a person being injured by a train at Punchbowl.
“Bus companies are currently being contacted for a replacement service to operate, updates to follow.”
According to a source, an announcement was made over the loudspeaker this morning that stated a person had sadly passed at Belmore due to their injuries.
A source told New Idea the train conductor announced: “Due to a fatality at Belmore, trains have been suspended.”
The victim is believed to be a male, however, this has not been confirmed.
