A Kmart whale doona is the new ‘blue or gold dress’ after sparking an online argument over whether the whales are upside down.
The simple post on a Kmart hack group on Facebook generated one hundred comments in an hour as people raged over which way it should be positioned on the bed.

“Not a hack but i bought the whale quilt cover today and the buttons to close are at the top. Or am I missing something?” read the caption under the photo posted to the group, Kmart Hacks & Decor.
It continued: “The whales are definitely up the right way and it is pictured this way on the packaging. Both sets are the same. Although I’ve put the picture up the wrong way on the top bunk so the buttons are at the foot end. Is this right?”
Members of the group were quick to comment on the post.
“My brain tells me the whales should be the other way up, so they are the right way up when you are looking at the bed,” wrote one user.

While another wrote: “Nope, they have just drawn them wrong. Or drawn them jumping out of the water.”
Doona buttons can be placed towards the head or foot of the bed, but most people choose to have the buttons toward the foot of the bed for comfort.
