A woman who was born without a vagina is fundraising money for surgery so she can finally have sex with her boyfriend.
When Arizona resident, Kaylee Moats, was 18 she visited her doctor, confused as to why she had never had a period and if anything was the matter with her reproductive system.
Her sister, Amanda, explains on the GoFundMe page that after an MRI the doctors revealed that Kaylee had been born without a uterus, cervix, vagina, or vaginal opening. It’s a condition called Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser Syndrome, and occurs in 1 in 5,000 females.
‘As you can imagine, it was hard to process all of this information and we were all heartbroken,’ wrote Amanda.
‘As a sister, there was nothing worse than getting that phone call and knowing that my sister’s dreams for her life were changed so drastically in an instant, with nothing I or anyone else could do to make it better.’
Kaylee decided to set the issue aside until after she graduated college last year, and now with the support of her family and her boyfriend of four months, Robbie Limmer, she is raising money for surgery.
‘I am looking forward to having a sexual relationship,’ Kaylee, now 22, told Daily Mail.
‘I’m not sure If I want to wait until marriage but I think having that option there is a lot more comforting.’
‘I’m a bit nervous to have sex for the first time after surgery because I’m not sure if something is going to go wrong down there or if it’s going to hurt.’
She says that while she took a while to feel confident telling Robbie about her condition, that he has been incredibly supportive.
‘He was confused at first but supportive and said that it doesn’t change how he see’s me.’
