Police have reportedly seized a dirty shovel from the garage of the Karen Ristevski’s Avondale Heights home, which she shared with her husband Borce and daughter Sarah.
According to the Herald Sun, soil samples taken from the shovel have been forensically tested, with one matching earth found in the Gisborne-Macedon area.
DNA testing earlier this week revealed human remains found in bushland at the base of Mt Macedon on Monday were those of Mrs Ristevski, who disappeared seven months earlier.
This comes after Borce Ristevski’s lawyer, Rob Stary, told the Herald Sun it was clear his client was a suspect in her murder.
Despite this, Mr Ristevski is still yet to speak publicly since his wife’s body was discovered.
