Julia Louis-Dreyfus has revealed she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The 56-year-old actress shared the news in an emotional Instagram post.
‘1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I’m the one,’ she wrote.
‘The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends, and fantastic insurance through my union. The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let’s fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality.’
A rep for the Veep star also told Us Weekly: ‘Julia is incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support and well wishes’.
Hundreds of Julia’s fans shared positive words of encouragement on Instagram.
‘Stay strong Julia… you got this! Sending hugs, loves & prayers,’ wrote one.
Another shared: ‘Sending love, thoughts, and prayers your way. You’ve got this!’
Celebrities such as Rosie O’Donnell and Christina Applegate also offered their well wishes.
