J. K. Rowling sends 7-year-old Aleppo fan Harry Potter books

Such a touching gesture

J. K. Rowling has proven that magic really does exist beyond the pages of Harry Potter.

Bana, a young Syrian girl with nearly 100,000 followers on Twitter, says she likes to read to ‘forget the war’ and regularly posts videos that capture the sound of bombing, appealing for help as the Syrian regime steps up its assault on the besieged city.

The young girl also managed to catch the attention of the Harry Potter when she tweeted the famous writer telling her that she enjoyed one of the Harry Potter films, asking if she could get a book.

On Wednesday, Bana uploaded a thank you picture saying she had received the ebooks from JK Rowling.

Bana’s mother, Fatemah Alabed, who runs her daughter’s Twitter page, said that Bana had received all of the Harry Potter books and she would start reading them immediately.

 J. K. Rowling herself also responded to Bana, telling the little girl how happy she was to hear she’d received the books.
