UPDATE: Bus driver killed with ‘incendiary device’

A 48-year-old man is set to appear in court with the murder of a Brisbane bus driver.

Manmeet Alisher, 29 was tragically killed when an ‘incendiary device’ was thrown at him whilst he was picking up passengers at Moorooka on Friday morning.

According to 7 News, the man – described by police as ‘compliant’ – was arrested at the scene and charged with murder, arson and eleven counts of attempted murder.

The man in question will appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.

 Meanwhile, a local taxi driver has been hailed a ‘hero’ after busting down the back door of the bus to allow six terrified passengers, including three children, escape the inferno.

He said after the front of the bus exploded the driver ran out ‘covered in flames, head to toe’.

‘The people were kicking the window and screaming at me to open the door,’ Aguek Nyok told the Brisbane Times.
