The game changed when Troy and Bec slammed the renovation of their Sydney home, claiming it “could take them a year” to save enough money to fix the end result.

But as the series continues, teams say the rivalry will only ramp up.

‘I feel like their scoring was complete strategy,’ Sean says of the pair.

The Tasmanian couple found themselves the victim of Troy’s heavy criticism after they were given a two-out-of-10 for their “depressing” renovation of the ensuite bathroom.

“Sean and Ella were given the smallest room in the house (the ensuite bathroom.) And to enclose it all in black like that, it’s black on black on black… it’s too much black, it’s the only bathroom of the series that has two exposed walls that aren’t tiled,” Troy explained to News.com.au.

But in further blow, Troy also lashed out at Sean and Ella’s bedroom upgrade for Bec’s 12-year-old son Josh, berating the plywood used on the walls as “the cheapest stuff you can find.”

“Josh said on camera he liked the room, but off camera he told us he didn’t like it,” Troy revealed.

“He thought he had to be polite.”
