A woman has ‘mowed down’ her husband with her car, in a suspected domestic dispute that turned deadly.
Ritchie Powell was struck by a car in Melbourne over the weekend as he was walking with his suitcase along a busy suburban road.
His partner Jess Lee Donker, allegedly fled the scene and has now been charged with his murder.
The car used in the attack was found a couple of streets away at a relative’s home.
Witnesses have recounted the horrific scenes.
‘[She] tried to run him over, probably five, six times,’ a witness alleged to The Daily Mail.
‘And then, finally she got him with that, she hit a pole, he was behind a pole… And she got him.
‘She stopped the car to have a look. And she started screaming and then she went back to the car, spun up the road.’
Another witness recalled they saw Mr Powell walk down the road without a shirt on as he talked to himself and appeared ‘distressed’.
‘He was just a bit distressed,’ a witness said.
‘He was muttering and talking.’
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Nick Densley, who is working on the case, believed a ‘number of events’ may have led up to the incident between the couple.
