One month after the tragic accident that killed four people at Dreamworld, the theme park is in the spotlight for another safety issue.
Craig Davidson revealed in a statement that three ‘prohibition notices’ were issued by Workplace Health and Safety QLD (WHSQ) regarding the Buzzsaw ride.
A prohibition notice means the inspector believes there is ‘imminent danger’.
The notices refer to ‘maintenance safety harness anchor points,’ ‘staff maintenance procedure error’ and a requires an addition ‘inner lock gate for the control booth’.
The press release states, ‘An extra gate has also been installed to prevent the operator gaining access to the platform while the ride is in motion that remains subject to WHSQ approval.’ Further staff training has also commenced.
The new findings come after the Thunder River Rapids Ride malfunctioned last month, killing four people.
