The coroner is hopeful that the inquest into the death’s of four people at Dreamworld last week could begin as soon as next year, but confesses that finding a conclusion ‘will take a long time’.
Coroner James McDougall attended the park to inspect the re-enactment of the tragedy that occurred after the Thunder River Rapids ride malfunctioned, 9 News reports.
McDougall described the reenactment, which involved the use of crash test dummies, as ‘very complicated.’
‘The investigation is going extremely well.’
He added: ‘It will take a long time … months, I’d say.’
Canberra mother Kate Goodchild, 32, her brother Luke Dorsett, 35, his partner Roozbeh Araghi, 38, and Sydney mother Cindy Low, 42, were killed after the Thunder River Rapid ride malfunctioned and flipped backwards.
