He was trusted to scissor the locks of the elite including Princess Diana and Elle Macpherson.
But hairdresser to the stars Joh Bailey is the subject of startling headlines today – including claims in the Daily Telegraph newspaper that he is battling a ‘substance abuse issue’.
Apparently conceding to the Telegraph that he ‘crossed the line’ recently amid a string of lurid newspaper headlines about his alleged hard partying and various controversial run-ins, which have created an air of disgrace around the celebrity snipper, Joh added that he is ‘doing what has to be done to get healthy’.
The news publication also reported that ‘personal struggled have plagued him since his teens’.
The paper controversially claims that Joh’s salon is currently being run by his business partner Marilyn Koch.
But later today Bailey apparently told the Sydney Morning Herald that he is talking to a lawyer about the Telegraph‘s claims, and suggests there is nothing awry in his life, claiming it is now ‘business as usual, nothing has changed, I am not taking a back seat nor am I out of control.’ He also denied various published claims about his alleged public antics, including allegations he was thrown out of a bar and created a scene at a friend’s wedding.
‘It is true that I have been disappointed with my own behaviour and I have promised my business partner Marilyn Koch that I will no longer drink in public, but I am hardly out of control,’ Bailey claimed to PS.
‘Yes I might have been a bit tipsy but I wasn’t punching people or being disgraceful … a lot of people have a few drinks and they don’t make the next day’s paper … but apparently I do.’
