NRL star Ben Barba’s shocking Australia Day attack on his partner and the mother of his four children has been heard in court.

According to Daily Mail, a Mackay court heard how Barba “grabbed” Ainslie Currie “around the throat”, “pinned her to a wall” and “struck her head with a shoe, pelted a rock at her and knocked her over during the clash at Townsville Casino.”
The new and shocking details come five months after Barba lost his rugby league contract and began work as a labourer following the public domestic violence incident.
But according to the website, the father-of-four was only served a sentence of 150 hours of unpaid community service.
Ms Currie declined to make a complaint about her long-term partner, but after May 5 body cam footage of the NRL star calling police “racists” and “rapists” was shown to the court, he was “convicted of public nuisance and obstructing police” on two counts.
Police were reportedly called to the “rambling” star’s home following a domestic dispute.
His lawyer Campbell MacCallum told Seven News on Tuesday, “My client acknowledges his behaviour was not consistent with community standards and he is embarrassed and remorseful and unreservedly apologetic to his much-loved partner Ainslie and his four beautiful daughters he adores.
He added, “He has suffered great financial loss and the loss of a sport he dearly loves and he wishes to apologise to all who have been affected by his behaviour.”
